When the umbrella is being handed out at an event or as part of a wide campaign, it matters that it takes up little space when folded and that the unit cost stays under control. The usual mistake is choosing only by colour or price. Check the frame first: if you expect wind, fibreglass ribs or a windproof model are a better choice; if the forecast is rough, it may be worth moving up to a branded golf umbrella.

In a welcome pack or a campaign with an environmental focus, a mini folding umbrella in recycled PET works well if it fits into a backpack and gets used every day. If the umbrella goes along to client visits, with a sales team or to senior management, the difference between one that is merely fine and one that is genuinely comfortable is obvious.
